Koreasteno is the largest stenography company in Korea. We produce steno-machine, train stenographers and produce many kinds of subtitles for closed captions in TV or streaming services.

All stenographers in Korea use ‘Computer Aided Stenography’. In Korea, ‘Computer Aided Stenography’ mean stenography that provide completed sentences in real time using chord keyboards and computers. It is Koreasteno that first developed ‘Computer Aided Stenography’ and uses the term in Korea. Our traces are also found in Korean national technical qualification name ‘Korean Stenography (Computer)’.

In 1999, we maintained the overwhelming number one position in the industry by offering closed caption service to TV stations for the first time in Korea. Since then, there have been many difficulties, such as the appearance of companies that imitate our business, but their business did not last long. Koreasteno was able to be maintained for more than 30 years because it adhered to the principles of the business and hired skilled stenographers with many work experience to offer consistent services.

Since the 2020s, stenography industry has been experiencing both crisis and opportunity. Koreasteno is making several attempts to combine AI and ASR with our technologies. We are working with National Assembly in Korea, local assemblies, courts and other national agencies to develop AI services.

In addition, Koreasteno is trying to expand its business outside of Korea. We are looking for opportunities in all fields, including steno-machine and Korean text for several video contents. Since the General Assembly in Katowice in 2024, Koreasteno has been active in Intersteno as an associated member.
